Sin shall not have dominion over you - Pastor Emmanuel Ogbechie

Romans 6:12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Romans 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The born again Christian has been recreated in righteousness. The authority or control of sin over your life has been broken.

Sin shall not and should not be allowed to have dominion over you.

Before you got saved, when the motions of sin arises in you, you had no power to resist or say no. At that time sin had dominion over you.

But now in Christ Jesus, you are now under grace. This means that you now have the grace and ability to resist temptations to sin.

Sin is deadly. Romans 6:13 delares that the wages of sin  is death. Everytime anyone yields himself to do something wrong, something dies in that person's life.

Sin is to be resisted. You cannot live victoriously over it if you do not recognize that you must resist the temptation to sin.

Hebrews 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Today there is nothing that kills a believers relationship with the Holy Spirit as sin does.

Paul in His writing to the Romans admonishes us not to let sin reign in our mortal bodies. One sin that we must prevent from reigning in our bodies is the sin of fornication.

1Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

The body of a believer is the temple of the Holy Spirit and according to above scripture the sin of fornication is directly against the temple of God.

Don't just fall into sin without putting up a fight against the temptation to sin. Joseph resisted the temptation from Portiphar's wife for him to commit fornication with her. This gives us an example that we are supposed to resist the sin of fornication.

Fornication is sexual intercourse between two people who are not legally married. It is a grievous sin before God.

If you are currently living in the sin of fornication, you need to stop it now.  It may seem like you can go on because no body knows or sees you but you must never forget that every action of sin if unrepented from will open the door to satan to attack your life.

Ephesians 4:27 Do not give any room to the Devil.

I encourage you to close the door to satan in your life today by quitting any sin that you may be indulging in.
