Incline your ears

In His Presence Daily Devotional

Incline your ears - Pastor Emmanuel Ogbechie

Proverbs 4:20  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

One of the missing practices among believers is listening. Most of us are specialist in speaking. We talk from morning till evening everyday and spend very little time listening

Most believers spend so little time listening to God's word and even while in God's presence they still do most of the talking rather than inclining their ears to hear God's word.

Our Lord Jesus observed that most people do not pay attention to the importance of listening hence he spoke the words of Mark 4:9.

Mark 4: 9  And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Romans 10 17 declares that Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the spoken word of God. To hear God's word is to have faith and to have faith is to be positioned for victory.

To hear from God you need to incline your ears.

Physically speaking, when someone is sitting down and is speaking at a low volume you actually incline or bend closer in other to hear what is being said.

God is saying bend over, and put your eyes on the written word and your ears on the preached word so that you can hear what he has to say. Bend over and focus on the word of God until it becomes a revelation to you.

Many people are facing different types of problems today. From financial difficulty to relationship issues. Some are currently overwhelmed by their problems and have even given up.

If you are facing any kind of challenge today, the first thing you need to do is to check up on where your eyes and ears spend their time within your every 24 hours.

You are responsbible for where your eyes and ears spend time on.

How much time you spend listening to God's word determines how much chance you have for faith to come to you.

The victory that overcomes the world is not our crying, rather it is our faith.

1 John 5: 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

If Faith is the victory that overcomes the world, then spending time listening to God's word is the first step to victory since faith comes by hearing the preached word.

I encourage you to do something about getting faith today by spending time listening to the word.

We have sermons streaming 24 hours everyday on DRMLive app. I encourage you to download the app today.
